Coming Soon to a Blog Near You: Folklore through Picture Books

Folkloreate is coming out of its deep sleep! Winter is over and it’s time to rev up the blog once again. We’re launching a great new series: Folklore through Picture Books. We will be circling the globe through beautiful illustrations of time old tales!

Starting June 2016 we’ll be bringing you a beautiful and interesting picture book featuring the retelling of a folktale, fable, fairy tale, legend or myth each week.

Simply stunning!

Children’s picture books are an excellent medium for expressing and retelling age old folktales. They are visually engaging and when done properly- simply stunning! I’ve been building up a wonderful collection that I intend on sharing with you! So make sure to stay tuned for this fantastic upcoming series.

Just a taste of what’s to come!

No Kids? No Problem!

It doesn’t matter whether you have kids or not. These books are beautiful and their stories are timeless. So…

This journey will be taking us around the globe! We will be touching on pretty much every continent from Australia to the Americas and everywhere in between! You can be sure that Europe does not have a monopoly on great storytelling.

Sneak Peeks!

Each and every entry will include a sneak peak. We’ll be sharing a chunk of text to give you a feel of the author’s voice and style. As well as sharing a taste of the interior artwork.

Each entry will consist of a detailed synopsis of the folktale, fairy tale, fable, legend,  or myth and some background information about it’s origin!

No Kickbacks

So- I will be sharing books but you can rest assured that I am not affiliated with any of the authors, illustrators or publishers that will be featured in this series. I wish! But alas- I am but a humble blogger at this stage in life. But that’s not to say I’m not open to new endeavors.

If you’re an author, illustrator or publisher and think your picture book would make a great addition to this series- please email me at folkloreate.blog@gmail.com or simply fill out the form below!
